Day 10: Another day in the (wet) saddle! Metzovo to Meteora

50 miles and 3720 elevation

Bridger and I were the only 2 riders silly enough to ride and Ben, our intrepid guide, was tasked with making sure we did not disappear in the mists….

That’s Ben, our Super Hero guide who decided to go with us “Crazies” as we are now known by the other riders

Always a few problems.

We make it to Neochori, an awesome old mountain resort on a lake, that we can’t see in the mist. Maybe tomorrow!

Day 9: A Greek ski resort town and the last day of sunshine – but plenty of the liquid kind coming up. Ioannina to Metzovo

48 miles 6151 feet and COLD/WET!!!

Lunch stop at a great little picnic area

Coming into Metzovo, very europeany. Is that a word?

Arriving in Metsovo, Greece, a wonderful little ski town. That said, the next day looked problematic, weather wise.

Day 7: On to Greece! Saranda to Ioanniana – another easy word to say.

I sound like I have marbles rolling around in my mouth when saying these names

66 miles and 5423 feet

Leaving Saranda Greece and some awesome tourist traps

This is gonna look so good on Flathead Lake…

Crossing the border to Greece

Looks like Greece is taking covid a bit more seriously than Albania

And, finally, laundry day!

Day 5: whatever, too many blogs too little time to sleep – From Lezhe to Durres, in Albania, I think

All this long distance, hot, bumpy, biking tends to make time run on in an indefinitely long stream of Interweaving threads of consciousness.

Wow. No more local spirits for me!  Here are a few snippets of yesterday

75 miles 3463 feet

Leaving the local “eco farm”. Wonderful restaurant, serving only what they have  fresh that day. Room was interesting,  too

Lots of this on the ride

But then we stayed here

So that was a bit strange.  Many interesting things to run into

Day 4: I think, anyway. Bar to Lezhe, Albania.

Bar to Lezhe 49 miles and 2260 feet

Yabba dabba do! Only 50 miles and limited hills! Was a bit wet, but no crashie, crashie.

Going through this border was a breeze

A few obstacles

And the Carnival Portion of the Tour continues with the Albanian entry, at least no scary lady ride, as from the Montenegrian a day ago.

Coming into the farm cooperative – they have a great restaurant that only serves what they raise at the farm – so you don’t know what you are getting until you get there!

Day 3: Kotor to Bar (no, not that kind of bar, this is the 5th largest city in Montenegro)

So, after several physical and verbal fights with my computer, I tossed that damned  thing and no am using Bridger’s, so we just may get regular updates! And actually that did not work,, I am trying my phone,  now..

This first one is day 2 summary. I am really tired, so the witty comments will cease and just the snippets of video will do all the speaking!

Kotor to Bar. 68 miles, 7277 elevation

This second one is of searching for dinner
