Well, that was a bitch. 70 miles and 4K climbing. That said, Bridger got to spend time at the local, very scary, carnival! Please notice the juxtaposition between the giant, oddly frightening mother figure and the girl on the ticket booth. Such a wondrous place, this Montenegro!

Day one was 5;45 hours in the saddle, climbing almost 6,ooo feet, over 70 miles and used 5,290 calories. Day 2 was a little more of every thing. 7,000 feet, 6 hours and burned 5,550 calories. And hey, only 14 more days to go! Look closely at switchbacks below

These are a bit clearer and can be printed out, not that anyone would want to do that – unless you are planning to ride that particular route. In that case, pick out one that does not have all that dang elevation!

Sooooo, Welcome to our abode, Nancy and I, that is. You might see a cat, that’s Hermey, Bridger’s Ball and Chain. We are staying here until our remodel is complete. But I digress ……

Anywho, all this crap gotta fit into a bag on a plane – can it do done?

We shall see, oh, and please take notice of Nancy, who is doing her best to avoid ANY publicity.

Doug Mahlum and his son, Bridger, are taking on the roads of Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece over 16 days with Ride and Seek Tours.

Why are we doing this? Well, two things to remember – you only live once and I ain’t gettin’ any younger. Bridger had some vacation time built up so we figured it was time to get this done.

Ride and Seek is a bike tour company that specializes in small groups and more difficult rides. You also get a bit of history along the way – they take the time to point out what the heck was that stuff on the route. You stay in nice hotels (I gave up my right to sleep in a tent after putting in 70 miles on a bike), eat good, local food and you don’t have to carry a bunch of baggage on your bike, leaving you free to fly like the wind – downhill.
